To be sure, Panasonic had little interest in Sanyo's sub-standard electronics; the real prize was the Sanyo Eneloop rechargeable battery brand, which of course in the predominant brand in the rechargeable batteries industry.
Up until this acquisition, Sanyo eneloop has done little to match their robust marketing campaign for the Sanyo Eneloop. as a result, prices have remained high on Eneloops and availability a bit scarce. Well, all of that is going to change.
Thanks to Panasonic, the distribution lines for the Sanyo Eneloop brand are opening up. 2010 has already proven to be a year of lower prices and wider distribution for the rechargeable batteries giant, thanks to Panasonic's aggressive pitch to take Sanyo Eneloop to the next level.
"If you're like me, then you know that Sanyo has contributed little to the world of electronics."
ReplyDeleteComment: come-on. strickly correct, but in general, who bought what from whom? A great step forward in recharable batteries...
Just goes to show that the supply in the big mall superstores that still carry the "Sanyo eneloop" brand are at least four years old stocks. Sanyo stopped manufacturing eneloop batteries in 2010. The stock currently on sale in other countries all carry the Panasonic brand. Poor unsuspecting Juan De La Cruz'es, still falling prey to unscrupulous importers, probably smugglers too.
